Is it possible to add a DB-25 parallel port to an hp 550-126 desktop? If so what do I look for when purchasing, I have looked to see if there is anywhere on the motherboard to plug it in and don't see anything that stands out to me. Also a usb to parallel port adapter wont work for what I need.

I don't have the specific reference, but I read somewhere that MS killed off parallel ports (LPT) in recent Win10 versions.
So, before you go down this road, you need to see if you can hunt down a Win10-compatible driver for the add-on card.
Good Luck

Sorry for jumping in. Machine has few slots
- Expansion Slots:
- 1 PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0)
- 1 PCI Express x1 (Gen 2.0)
- One M.2 socket 1, key A
You can use the PCIe x1 slot for the following (or similar) card and they say it is compatible with Windows® CE 6.0 / 5.0, 95, 98SE, 2000, XP, XP Embedded, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10
Regards.
