Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I'm wondering about an Office upgrade. I purchased HP ProOne 600 G6 All-in-One and it came with Office Personal 2019. I didn't realize this until after receiving the computer. I need Office Home and Business 2019 because I use PowerPoint a lot. Can I upgrade through HP (paying the difference to HP) or do I have to contact Microsoft on this issue? I also live in Japan.

Thank you.

Hello
you must contact microsoft, or buy a license on a third-party site
to check, but it seems to me that HP does not sell an office license
If you contact microsoft, you may be able to get an offer

@IceFox29 -- is this your computer: HP ProOne 600 G6 22 All-in-One PC Specifications | HP® Customer Support

It comes with Office 2019 pre-loaded, but the web-page says "Office is bought separately".

So, HP pre-loaded the software, just as a convenience for you -- no need for you to download Office.

but you have to purchase a license for the software, if you want to use the pre-loaded software.

[Some people say "bloatware" for companies that pre-load "trial" versions of software (Office, McAfee anti-virus, Norton 360), that need to be "uninstalled".]

So, you cannot upgrade this preloaded software -- you do not have anything to use as a "base" that can be upgraded.  You must purchase a license for the version of Office that you want to use.

Note: if you do try to run the preloaded version of Microsoft Word, you will get a pop-up, indicating that you have 60, or 90, days to use this "trial" software, before needing to pay anything.  That is not what you want.

@IceFox29

MS office 2019 did not come in a "personal" edition; instead, it came in (1) Home and Student, (2) Home and Business, (3) Professional. I'm guessing yours was the first of these.

If this was an OEM version, which is likely if it came preloaded, then it most likely can NOT be upgraded because MS does not sell OEM versions to the public.
