I cannot access a server on Rust at Relic EU PVE, it never connects since I've had HP, before I had HP it used to load without a problem? Should I abandon HP?

Hi @Johnr650,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. I can understand how frustrating this must be, especially if you were able to connect to the Relic EU PVE Rust server without any issues before.

The issue may not necessarily be related to your HP PC itself, so let's gather a few details to better understand what's happening.

Could you please let me know:

  • What is the exact model number of your HP computer?
  • Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11?
  • Does the issue occur only with the Relic EU PVE server, or are you unable to join any Rust servers?
  • When you try to connect, do you receive an error message, or does it stay on "Connecting" and eventually time out?
  • Are you connected over Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
  • Have there been any recent Windows updates, BIOS updates, graphics driver updates, or network driver updates before the issue started?
  • Are you able to browse the internet and play other online games without any connection issues?

In the meantime, please try these checks:

  1. Restart your PC and your router, then try connecting to the server again.
  2. Open HP Support Assistant and install any available network, chipset, or BIOS updates for your PC.
  3. If you're using Wi-Fi, try connecting with an Ethernet cable, if possible, to rule out a wireless connection issue.
  4. Temporarily disable any VPN or third-party security software if you're using one, and test the connection again.
  5. If possible, try connecting to a different Rust server to see if the issue is specific to the Relic EU PVE server.

Once you share the requested details, especially your HP model, Windows version, and any error message you receive while connecting, I'll be happy to help you narrow down the cause and guide you with the next appropriate steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.

This problem was reported over a month ago, HP is extremely slow to support customers, I had better service when I had a Lenovo pc. The current one is OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-2 which is only 2 years old! I use the wifi broadband with Win 11. It tries to connect to Rust EU but times out, it doesn't happen on any other games, I guess HP is blocking it! I always update HP and Win on a regular basis.

I bought this pc to specifically run Rust but once again HP are a let down, so my next pc won't be HP.
