Characters repeat very quickly at time when pressing a key

This issue has been experienced across multiple keyboard/mice combbbbbbbi (<-here's an example of the issue), combinations.  When I'm typing on my keyboard, it almost seems like the connectivity between it and my computer gets lagged or something........  (<- another example).  Wheeeeeeen (<-another example) I depress a key, offffffften (<- anotttttther example) the signal seemmmmmmms (<- another example) gets stuck, and not the actual physical key.  

Is there a way to clear the cacccccccccccccccccccche (<- another example) betweennnnnnnn (<- another example) the keyboard and computer?  Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
