Hi @Jayden20,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that your HP Notebook - 15 computer is experiencing issues. When a laptop fails to turn on, there can be several potential reasons behind it. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and identify the problem.
- Check the power source: Make sure that the laptop is properly connected to a power outlet and that the charger is working correctly. Try a different power outlet and verify if the charging indicator on the laptop lights up when connected.
- Inspect the power adapter: If possible, try using a different power adapter to rule out any issues with the current one. Sometimes, faulty adapters can prevent the laptop from charging or powering on.
- Check the battery: If the laptop has a removable battery, try removing it, and then reinsert it securely. Dust and debris can sometimes cause connection issues. If your laptop has an internal (non-removable) battery, skip this step.
- Reset the laptop: Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery (if possible), and hold the power button down for about 15-20 seconds. Then, reconnect the power adapter (if applicable) and try turning on the laptop.
- Try an alternate power source: If you have been using a power strip or surge protector, try connecting the laptop directly to a power outlet.
- Check for signs of life: Pay attention to any lights or sounds when you attempt to turn on the laptop. If you see any lights, hear any sounds, or feel any vibrations, it could provide a clue about what's wrong.
- Hardware issue: If you have recently made any hardware changes or upgrades, double-check that everything is installed correctly and compatible with your laptop model.
- Check the display: It's possible that the laptop is turning on, but the display isn't working. Try connecting the laptop to an external monitor or TV to see if you get any video output.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
