HP Z240 SFF Workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

On my new HP Z240 SFF Workstation, I have followed the instructions on MS page to create a new partition.  However, there does not appear to be an option available to do so on the HP desktop.    On step 2, there is not unallocated space to create a new partition.  Any advice.

Here is the user manual for that PC.

You could easily add an additional hard drive and set it up the way that is desired without bothering the system drive.  Then you can do whatever is needed.  Just a thought and much safer.

Hi!, @GLS555 :

You can use AOMEI (Download FreeWare), from ... https://www.disk-partition.com/free-partition-manager.html

Or too ... https://www.easeus.com/partition-manager-guide/split-partition.html

Kind Regards !.

When there is no free space on the hard drive, an existing partition needs to be shrunk to give some free space.  Just an FYI, messing around with partitions when it is not clear as the "How to" can be troublesome, or even disabling to the Windows install.  Using a software designed to assist or automate the process is recommended as @Maké posted.  Still it is not wise as Windows could still be disabled by a wrong move.

Why do you want/need an additional partition?

The reason is I want to create a partition is security.  I will be using RDP to connect from one personal computer #1  (outside of my home network) into my home #2 network.  I want to create a new partition to install a software application.  When #1 connects via RDP to computer #2, I only want them to have access to the new partition.
