Pavilion All-in-One 27
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I launch Power Media DVD player on my Pavilion All-in-One desktop, it creates a cache folder in OneDrive (C:\Users\xxx\OneDrive\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDVD14\Caches), which causes an sync issue of OneDrive. I tried to change the location of the cache but couldn't find such an option within Power Media DVD player. I can't exclude this particular folder to sync within OneDrive settings (I want to sync my documents folder). Worse, when I finish watching DVDs and close the application, it seems it is still running in background and keeps the cache files in use, so OneDrive still can't sync them. I have to launch Task Manager and forcefully end the Power Media app, which is very annoying.

So, I have two questions.

- Is there any way to change the location of cache files generated by Power Media DVD player (e.g. editing registry)?

- Can I upgrade the pre-installed Power Media DVD player? I expect a newer version has an option to change the cache folder through options/settings menu. Current version is 14.

Sorry, but since this is just a self-help Support Community staffed mostly by volunteers, we have no capability for debugging problems with third-party (i.e., non-HP) applications.

My guess, as to the second would be NO -- as the versions of third-party software that come preloaded on OEM PCs are nearly always special versions provided to those OEMs and your existing product license does not support changing the versions.

That said, for definitive help with these issues, you have to contact the vendor of the application or their support forum.

Hello
sometimes it is possible to have a software patch
this can be done, directly from the software, it is sometimes even announced automatically!
But we stay in the same main version for example v14 84xx <> 8413!
You can also have updates from the computer product page.
To switch to another version is possible, but you have to buy it, and may not be sure that the problem is solved!
however there are trial versions, to test before buying so!
