I have a refurbished  HP 6200 Pro MT i5 computer that I recently purchased.

My problem is, the CD/DVD drive icon doesn't show up in "my computer, this PC, etc (as I'm accustomed to with other computers I've owned in the past), unless, I put a CD or DVD in the drive.

An ideas as to how I can this icon to show up without having a disc in the drive?

Thank you.

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Try deselecting "Hide Empty Drives" located in the View tab found in Control Panel, File Explorer Options.

Thank you for your suggestion.
I tried it, but, it didn't work.

Hi Mark,

Gee, I don't know.

I am sure the drive is visible in Disk Management and it works when you insert optical media.

How does Device Manager look, any errors?

Regards
