Disable Rapid Storage Technology on HP Envy desktop

I've looked at some of the existing tutorials and guides but I cannot find one that matches my system. I've looked pretty much everywhere in the BIOS settings but there just is no option to disable it in there. I'm starting to wonder if my system actually has RST or if it is a false positive since I've never even heard of this and there is no mention of it in the BIOS.

@aprilthecutie01

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the operating system?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Option 1: Update the driver through Windows Updates.

  1. Connect the computer to the internet.
  2. Click Start.
  3. Select the Settings icon.
  4. Select Update & security.
  5. Select Windows Updates.
  6. Select Check for updates.
  7. Windows Update will download and install the drivers automatically (a restart may be required).
  8. Confirm the driver is updated to version 15.9.6.1044 (or later).
  9. Type Dev ice Manager in the Search field.
  10. Click the + (plus sign) to expand Storage Controllers.
  11. Right-click Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
  12. Select Properties.
  13. Select the Driver tab.
  14. Confirm version is updated to 15.9.6.1044 (or later).
  15. Perform the Windows upgrade to version 1903 again.

Option 2: Update the driver in Device Manager.

  1. Type Dev ice Manager in the Search field.
  2. Click the + (plus sign) to expand Storage Controllers.
  3. locate Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
  4. Right-click Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
  5. Select Update driver.
  6. Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
  7. Follow the on on screen instructions to update the driver.
  8. When the driver update is complete, confirm the driver is updated.
  9. Right-click Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
  10. Select Properties.
  11. Select the Driver tab.
  12. Confirm version is updated to 15.9.6.1044 (or later).
  13. Close Device Manager.
  14. Perform the Windows upgrade to version 1903 again.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
