Hi @charlierohrbach

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue opening document file on your pc, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Could you please elaborate in detail?

  • Are you getting any error ?

In the meantime you may follow these steps.

Locate the Document:

  • If you know where the document is saved (e.g., Desktop, Documents folder, or a specific location), navigate to that location.
  • You can open File Explorer by clicking the folder icon on the taskbar or pressing Windows + E on your keyboard.

Open the Documents Folder:

  • In File Explorer, click on Documents in the left sidebar. This will show all your saved documents.

Open the Document:

  • Find the document you want to open. Double-click on it to open it in the default program (e.g., Microsoft Word for .docx files, Adobe Reader for .pdf files, etc.).

Using Search:

  • If you can’t find the document, use the search bar in the top right corner of File Explorer to type the name of the document.

Opening from Applications:

  • If you want to open a document from within an application (like Word), open the application first, then click on File > Open, and navigate to your document from there.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

-Regards
