I just purchased an HP laptop with Windows 11 on it. All my work items are through Google chrome. I have been trying to download Google Chrome to my desktop as a standalone and Microsoft Edge has been blocking it. I do not understand. I should have a choice in what browser I choose to use. How do I work around this? I am unable to access any of my bookmarks? It is really frustrating. Please help me.

This is typical MS activities -- as my guess is that you are using THEIR browser (Edge) and it won't allow downloads as a form of security measure -- yeah, MS again telling us what WE are allowed to do.
My suggestion is to Google (not BING) for Firefox browser, download it, install it, and make it your default.
After that, you should have no issue downloading Chrome -- and you can then make that your default after you install it.
