Hi, I have a laptop, when I receive emails in I am not able to open attachments, this has only just started happening, any help will be appreciated. Thank you. Chris

Some ISPs filter out attachments such as .zip, .pdf, .exe

The attachment will arrive but in name only.

Your antivirus may be preventing you from opening the attachment.  Normally a notification will pop up but not always.

 

Bring up windows security center and see if defender (or norton or mcafee) have blocked it.

 

Check windows event log for errors.

 

Another possibility is that the attachment opened but is is behind a windows or is actually off-screen.  Look in the windows task bar at the bottom of the screen for an icon that might be the attachment.
