Hi
The preview pane isn't working in Explorer on my new desktop (or the laptop which I bought last year).
I have tried all these fixes for it :
1. enable preview pane - done
2. enable show preview handlers - done
3. disable always show icon - done
4. change explorer start up to this PC - done
5. change performance to adjust for best appearance - done
6. reset file expolorer - done
7. edit registry - Unchecked value was at 0 and has been changed to 1
It is driving me crazy and I really need it to work! Please can somebody help?

Here is a tutorial from the Win10 community forum, perhaps it can help: (9) Show or Hide Preview Pane in File Explorer in Windows 10 | Tutorials (tenforums.com)
There are other links at the bottom of the forum page that might also help.

Thanks for your reply, but I know how to show the preview pane. It just isn't working - it's not previewing anything.
It shows nothing - no word docs, excel, pdfs or photos. Just says preview not available. Doesn't matter if it's an old file or a brand new one. Nothing shows.
Same issue on two different HP machines.

Did you even read the thread I recommended? Did you check to see if the pane is disabled in any way -- as the thread suggested? Did you look at the additional links at the bottom of the thread to see if any of them helped?

"Did you even read the thread...."? Yes, I read the thread. And I checked out the additional links at the bottom of the thread. Did you read my initial question and reply? The preview pane is there, it just doesn't preview anything. It says "this file can't be previewed" for every single file type.
