Hi @Kaaru,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've reinstalled the operating system and the issue persists, it might be a hardware problem or a persistent software issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- Test the keyboard by connecting an external USB keyboard. If the external keyboard works fine, the issue may be with the laptop's built-in keyboard.
Update Device Drivers:
- Ensure that all device drivers, especially the keyboard driver, are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager on Windows or a similar tool on your operating system.
Check for Malware:
- Run a thorough malware scan using a reliable antivirus program. Even if you've already done this, it's worth doing again to ensure that the system is clean.
Use Safe Mode:
- Boot your laptop into Safe Mode and check if the issue persists. If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, it could indicate that a third-party application or driver is causing the problem.
Create a New User Account:
- Create a new user account and check if the issue occurs on the new account. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your user profile.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Uninstall recently installed programs or updates that might be causing conflicts. Pay attention to any software changes made around the time the issue started.
Run System File Checker (SFC):
- Open a command prompt with administrative privileges and run the command sfc /scannow to check for and repair corrupted system files.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your operating system is up to date with the latest updates. Sometimes, issues are resolved through system updates.
Remember to back up your important data before performing any significant changes to your system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
