HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

In the HP App on my iMac, if I click on Files it doesn't recognise any files endings as pages or numbers.

How can I get to print these documents? I am on mac OS 13 Ventura.

Hi @Ballywings,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

f your HP DeskJet 2710e All-In-One Printer is not recognizing files from your Mac running macOS 13 for printing, you can follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Mac, either through a wired USB connection or over a wireless network.

Printer Software and Drivers:

  • Make sure you have installed the latest HP printer drivers and software compatible with macOS 13. You can download these drivers from the HP website.
  • Ensure that you have the correct printer software installed on your Mac.

Print Settings:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to the print dialog.
  • Confirm that the correct printer is selected in the "Printer" dropdown menu.
  • Verify that the paper size and type settings match the paper or cardstock you are using.
  • Ensure that the print quality settings are appropriate for your print job.

Document Format:

  • Ensure that the files you are trying to print are in a format supported by both your Mac and your printer (e.g., PDF, JPEG, etc.).

Check Printer Queue:

  • Open the "Printers & Scanners" preferences in macOS.
  • Select your HP DeskJet 2710e from the list of printers.
  • Click on the "Open Print Queue" button.
  • Check if there are any stuck print jobs in the queue and clear them if necessary.

Paper Loading:

  • Make sure you are loading the paper or cardstock into the printer's paper tray correctly. Follow the printer's manual for guidance.

Restart Printer and Mac:

  • Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and your Mac can resolve minor connectivity or communication issues.

Update macOS:

  • Make sure your Mac is running the latest version of macOS 13, as updates may include important bug fixes and compatibility improvements.

Printer Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your HP DeskJet 2710e printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues. Click here

Consult HP Support:

  • If none of the above steps work, it may be necessary to contact HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for you help, I did try to update the firmware and drivers but it didn't work. I think it is more to do with the HP app on my iMac It is not recognising any file with the extension .pages or .numbers, these are always greyed out. I did mange to print these files from my iPhone but the files have to be in iCloud for some reason.

I'm not sure if I have it set up right as the instructions were very vague.

I am running OS 14 Sonoma

Cheers
