I need to cleanup the computer and free up the storage as the internal ssd is quite limited. Only 30GB free space is available. It is a G4 Workstation with 512 GB SSD. The issue that the duplicate files mostly are images and audio files are saved across multiple partitions. Is there an effective way to let me quickly find and delete all duplicate files on my Windows 10 PC?

Try these methods:

Enable Storage Sense
Storage Sense automatically clears temp files, Recycle Bin items, and old Downloads without third-party apps.

1. Press Windows key, type "Storage settings," and select it (or go Settings > System > Storage).
2. Toggle "Storage Sense" on.
3. Click "Configure Storage Sense or run it now."
4. Set options: Delete temp files not used in 1 day; Recycle Bin after 30 days; Downloads after 60 days.
5. Click "Clean now" to run immediately, expect 5-15GB freed instantly.

Run Disk Cleanup with System Files

Disk Cleanup targets system junk, including previous Windows installations.

1. Press Windows key, type "Disk Cleanup," right-click, and select "Run as administrator."
2. Choose C: drive (your SSD), click OK.
3. Click "Clean up system files" (requires admin prompt).
4. Check boxes: Temporary files, Thumbnails, Recycle Bin, Delivery Optimization files.
5. Crucially, select "Previous Windows installation(s)" or "Windows.old", this can free 20-30GB from upgrades.
6. Click OK > Delete Files; wait 5-20 minutes.

Using Anti-Twin is a reliable method to find and delete duplicate files on Windows 10 PC. Unlike tools that just look at file names, Anti-Twin reads the actual content. It compares files "byte by byte".

Why this matters: If you have photo. jpg and a copy named backup_photo. jpg, the software ignores the names and sees that the data inside is identical.

Specific searches: It can also analyze MP3 headers (ignoring ID3 tags) and perform pixel-based comparisons for images, though it will not identify the same song encoded at different bitrates as a match.

Since its development slowed around 2012, it lacks cloud support and modern interface polish, but it runs perfectly on Windows 10 and 11. If you want a free, trustworthy tool that prioritizes safety (via the anti-twined folder) over automation, it is an excellent choice to find and delete duplicate files on Windows 10 PC.
