Hi @Reflex3, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since you've already tried Epic Games' troubleshooting steps, let's go deeper and check for issues with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) itself. Here are some advanced steps to try:
Repair Easy Anti-Cheat
Navigate to the EAC folder:
- Open File Explorer (Win + E) and go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat
- If it's missing, check the game’s installation folder.
Run the Repair Tool:
- Right-click EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe and select Run as administrator.
- Choose the game from the dropdown and click Repair.
- Restart your PC and try launching the game.
Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat
- Uninstall EAC:
- Open EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe again and select Uninstall.
- Delete the EasyAntiCheat folder manually from: C:\Program Files (x86)
- Reinstall EAC:
- Open Epic Games Launcher.
- Locate the affected game in Library, click Settings (three dots) > Verify.
- This should reinstall EAC.
Check EAC Services
Ensure EAC is running:
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Easy Anti-Cheat in the list.
- If it's stopped, right-click and select Start.
- Set Startup Type to Automatic.
Restart the Game and Test.
Disable Conflicting Software
- Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall (Windows Defender or third-party).
- Check for background apps: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and close:
- MSI Afterburner
- Razer Cortex
- Any overclocking software
- Other anti-virus programs
Check System Files
Corrupt system files can prevent EAC from working properly.
Run System File Checker (SFC)
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type: sfc /scannow
- Wait for the process to finish, then restart your PC.
Check for corrupted Windows components:
- In Command Prompt, run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Restart your PC.
Run Game as Administrator
- Go to the game’s installation folder.
- Right-click the .exe file and select Run as administrator.
Reinstall the Game
If nothing works, completely uninstall and reinstall the game.
If after all this, EAC still doesn’t work:
- Check if Windows 11 is fully up-to-date (Win + I > Windows Update).
- Try creating a new Windows user profile and running the game there.
- If nothing works, roll back Windows to a previous state using System Restore.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
