Hello
My daughter got this new laptop for Christmas and I've not been able to add the free Microsoft Subscrption that she got with the laptop. I've realised that it may be that I've used my email address by mistake and thats why the subscription won't apply to her laptop. Please could someone help me? She has her own email address which was set up for her yesterday so it needs to be linked to that one.
Thank you for the help

I have tried to resolve Microsoft subscription issues a few times and it went no where. One spends hour on the phone, sending emails etc.
I highly recommend forgetting about Office and try one of the free and open source alternatives:
any of the above look and feel very similar to Microsoft and they won't ever cost you a cent.
p.s. I am a Microsoft partner and shareholder, but I hate how poorly Micro$oft handle your issues.

Welcome to the HP Community --
"We" cannot help -- we are not Support.
HP cannot help -- the issue is beyond the scope of the system warranty.
Perhaps do not give up too easily --
A Quick check of one of the Specifications documents for a model in this series confirms the subscription:
HP Stream Laptop 11-ak0026na Product Specifications
Software
Operating system | Windows 10 Home in S mode |
HP apps | HP Audio Switch; HP Support Assistant |
Software included | McAfee LiveSafe™ |
Software - Productivity & finance | Microsoft 365 Personal 1 year subscription included |
A little background - FYI only...
If your daughter's model is pre-installed with Windows S Mode, know that S Mode is not like "real" Windows.
What?
S Mode is a limited, pieced version of Windows --
One of the main differences is that S Mode Windows only supports installing apps from the Microsoft Store.
S Mode is also a "smaller" Windows installation -- The compact size of the Operating System tends to better fit smaller laptops that lack physical disk space for keeping onboard programs and thousands of pictures, for example.
So?
All of this impacts how Microsoft 365 will (once fixed) exist and be used on the system.
It might not be important -- but it's important that you understand that all the programs (including Word) are intended to be used in the Cloud -- Files (documents / pictures) are expected to be stored in the Cloud (for Example, OneDrive).
I recommend that you do contact Microsoft Support --
Microsoft owns and controls all Microsoft office software -- (perhaps inconveniently) all named "Microsoft 365".
If you have a Microsoft account of your own, use that to initiate the support request.
If you cannot manage to get through whatever Microsoft Support menu options are available, submit a request for help to the Microsoft Community. True - the Community is not Microsoft Support but it's a possible way "in" if you cannot connect directly with Support for some reason.
