Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello I've just joined and could do with some input. I've just bought an HP ProDesk 400 G2 and have been searching for a
graphics card. I found one on eBay "HP Geforce GT 730 2GB PCI-E x8", which I thought seemed to be ok, but the seller told me
he didn't think it would fit the small form unit, stating that the plate would be too large to fit in the computer.
Any comments would be appreciated. Regards to all on my first post.Henry

@Henry_33,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Do you have the Small Form Factor (SFF) or the Microtower (MT) version?

Kind Regards,

Hello NonSequitur777 and thanks for your reply.

My desktop is the SFF.

@Henry_33,

Having tinkered with many SFF's, I am almost certain that this HP GeForce GT 730 2GB graphics card should fit in your SFF -with a low-profile bracket, of course, and not with the standard bracket as shown:

Whoever you buy it from, purchase it from a Seller who allows returns (like this one) in case it doesn't work out.

Hello NonSequitur777

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
I went digging on the net asking for dimensions for aa SFF HP, and ended up with this
link. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04724948. Given my limited knowledge would
I be right in assuming the numbers given under Form Factor: Low Profile 2.713 * 6.15in
are  the dimensions that  I am seeking?
What do you think?

@Henry_33,

I see what you mean:

This tells us that a graphics card with these dimensions will fit, but not if there is a little extra 'room' to fit a slightly larger GPU.

Again, for many (graphics card) upgrades, I'm afraid it is trial & error, both length-wise and height-wise.

Hello NonSequitur777

Thanks for your reply. I think I,ll go back to the seller and ask him if he will measure it for me.

I'll as for the extreme height from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the pins. I think the length is academic..

I'm going to this trouble because it's really cheap.

Thank you for all your input.

Regards and keep well,

Henry
