HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0014
Microsoft Windows 11

camera isn't working, I've uninstalled then reinstalled, I've checked for driver update but nothing. Computer saying camera is working fine but that's not the case. Black screen. I see a flash of a button on camera but it doesn't show anything but a black screen.

@edalyricist, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the HP 2.0 Webcam black screen issue on your HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0014 running Windows 11:

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Use HP’s built-in tool to test the webcam:

  1. Press Esc during startup, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  2. Select Component Tests > Webcam.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the test fails, it may indicate a hardware issue.

Reset Camera App Permissions

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  2. Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both enabled.
  3. Scroll down and make sure the Camera app has permission.

Reinstall Webcam Driver

  1. Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
  2. Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  3. Right-click HP 2.0 Webcam > Uninstall device.
  4. Restart your PC. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

If not, download the latest driver from the HP Software & Drivers page. Official HP® Support

Reset the Camera App

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  2. Search for Camera.
  3. Click the three dots > Advanced Options > Reset.

Try an Alternative App

Sometimes the default Camera app may not work properly. Try using:

  • Zoom, Skype, or YouCam to test the webcam.
  • Make sure the correct camera is selected in the app settings.
