HP All-in-One 24-f2100na
Microsoft Windows 11

Inserted CD in the CD drive and CD got lost in the terminal. I can't get the CD out or even see where it is. My question is: can I carry on using my PC as normal? It seems to be working fine.

Needless to say, I accept that I will not be able to use the CD drive going forward, but that is not a problem for me. Could you please help?

If you're asking will the CD damage the inside of the ALl-in-One, it's really hard to say.

My man concern would be the heat generated inside the case causing the CD to burn or melt.

On older PCs with hard drives, the only "moving part" inside your All-in -One would be a hard drive -- which would be enclosed inside a protective case -- and it is up near the top of the case, so it's unlikely that the CD will be near that.

But on newer PCs, with m.2 SSDs, those can get very hot, and if the CD rests on those, there could be problems.

If this were mine and it was still under warranty, I would contact your regional HP support center and see what they are willing to do for you about this.
