Hello HP Community,
I have installed the latest version of bios from 'support.hp.com/drivers' that is F.48,
but when my laptop restarted it's downgraded my Windows 11 to windows 10,
and now it's working too slow and lagging too much.
when I tried to upgrade it to window 11. It's showing me that 'TPM 2.O' is missing, and when i tried to enable it from bios
It does not give me any option which is related to enabling 'TPM 2.0'.
I also tried to update to previous version of bios which is not allowing me to update to previous version .
could you please look into this issue and let me know what needs to be done from my side.

@Akhilesh26, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing issues after updating your BIOS to version F.48 on your HP Notebook - 15g-dr0006tx, which resulted in:
- An unexpected downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10
- System performance issues (slow and lagging)
- Missing TPM 2.0 option in BIOS, preventing reinstallation of Windows 11
- Inability to roll back to a previous BIOS version
Let’s address these step by step:
Check TPM Availability in BIOS
Sometimes TPM is listed under different names or hidden under security settings.
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then press F10 to enter BIOS.
- Navigate to Security or Advanced tab.
- Look for TPM Device, TPM State, or Security Chip.
- If available, enable it and save changes with F10.
If TPM 2.0 is not visible, it’s possible the BIOS update disabled or hid it.
BIOS Rollback (If TPM is still missing)
HP sometimes restricts BIOS downgrades for security reasons. However, you can try the following:
- Visit the official HP driver page for your model: Official HP® Support
- Download the previous BIOS version
- Use the HP BIOS Recovery Tool:
- Create a recovery USB using another PC with HP BIOS Update and Recovery Utility.
- Insert the USB into your affected laptop.
- Press Windows + B and hold while powering on the laptop to trigger BIOS recovery.
Reinstall Windows 11 (After TPM is Enabled)
Once TPM is enabled:
- Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant to upgrade.
- Ensure Secure Boot is also enabled in BIOS under Boot Options.
Performance Troubleshooting on Windows 10
If you're staying on Windows 10 for now:
- Update all drivers from the HP Support Page.
- Run HP Support Assistant to check for firmware and driver updates.
- Perform a clean boot to isolate performance issues:
How to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
