Hi @MarLop1

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand  your query regarding installation issues for HP Desktop Support Utilities Services! I would request you to please follow the steps:

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your system is fully updated by checking for any pending Windows updates, which can sometimes resolve compatibility and dependency issues.

Manual Installation: Try manually installing the missing drivers using Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it from the list.
  • Check under "Other devices" for any items with a yellow triangle.
  • Right-click on them and select Update driver. Choose the option to search online or manually browse locations on your PC.

Download Drivers from HP Support:

  • Visit the HP Support website and navigate to the drivers section for your specific desktop model. Download any available chipset and software component drivers.

Use HP Support Assistant

  • If possible, use HP Support Assistant to automatically identify and install any missing drivers and updates.

Try Compatibility Mode: If the download is from an older source, try running the installation in compatibility mode:

  • Right-click the installation file, select Properties.
  • Go to the Compatibility tab and check Run this program in compatibility mode for a previous version of Windows that the program may support.
  • Click Apply and OK, then try running the installation again.

Disable Firewall/Antivirus Temporarily:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus protections to rule out interference in the installation process.

Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot to eliminate third-party software conflicts that might be preventing the installation:

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  • In the System Configuration window, go to the Services tab.
  • Check Hide all Microsoft services, and then click Disable all.
  • Go to the Startup tab, and click Open Task Manager.
  • Disable all startup items.
  • Restart your computer and try reinstalling the software.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
