How close is your C: drive to full capacity?

Are you using legacy drives or SSD products?

It is about 96% full (38 GB free out of a total capacity of 930 GB). The harddisk is an SSHD : 1TB HDD (with 8GB SSD).

Based on the information provided, it appears that your system's slow performance might be due to high disk usage and moderate memory usage; therefore, a potential solution could be to upgrade your system's hardware by adding more RAM and/or replacing your current hard disk drive (HDD) with a solid-state drive (SSD) to improve overall system performance.

Close to 96% full? 😳 No wonder there are disk issues.

That is the reason that it is running so slowly. Your PC's OS is already at the point of no return😲

The virtual memory that Windows uses to speed up program and data access comes from a portion of the hard disk that is set aside for that purpose. Virtual memory is also known as swap space.

You should never allow your hard disk or SSD to come within 10% of full capacity.

If you continual to store more data on the drive, eventually the OS will crash.

What is the installed OS?

Find yourself a USB flashdrive of 16-64 GB to use for the Windows installation media creation process.

You should use the Windows 10 USB media creation tool from Microsoft to reinstall Windows 10.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f...

The Windows 10 activation key for your PC is  already stored on the Microsoft Windows activation servers, so you will not need to worry about finding the activation key.

Boot to the USB flash drive and then follow the online instructions that appear on your display.

When you reach the installation key part, choose the skip option. Your Windows 10 OS will activate automatically when you go back online.

Here is the hyperlink to the driver & software port for the drivers for your PC.  You will need them  after Windows 10 is reinstalled.

I have now removed some data from the hard disk and now about 16% of the harddisk is free (147 gb out of 930 gb)

Still the system is as slow as before and even at times using 100% disk (I realised it was using 100% disk earlier also but the system was showing lesser as an external hard disk was also connected. I have disconnected it now. ).

What should I try next?

Keep going.

Clear the TMP or Temp folder.

Follow the advice on the Microsoft web document at the link below.

Definitely use Storage Sense.
