OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0046na

Hello,

I've got a notification in Microsoft Windows Update, referring that HP Inc. - firmware - 15.29.0.0 is pending, even after the update F.29 was successfully installed direct from HP download.

On the Device Manager, the system information displays firmware F.29, and under the Firmware Device Properties displays Vendor HP Inc.  version F29 dated 31/10/2023.

However, under Driver tab,  the Driver Version  is 15.28.0.0 dated 31/10/2023, provider- HP Inc. and Digital Signer-Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility  Publisher.

Either my HP Dashboard and HP Support Assistant, says that my firmware is the latest version F.29. Also when I click on Update Driver > Search Automatically for drivers under Firmware Device Properties, it returns that the Windows determined that the best driver for this device is already  installed.

Have anyone encountered the same issue?

What should I do?

Thanks

Fabate75

Hi:

Run the Windows system information app and check the BIOS version.

That will be listed on the BIOS version/Date line in the report.

It should be F.29 if that is what you installed from the support page.

If the report shows F.29

Unzip and run the Microsoft Hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below to prevent that update from showing up in the Windows update program.

The utility will run and should find the HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.29.0.0 update that wants to install.

Check the box to hide the update.

The utility will run again and report that the problem is 'Fixed.'

Restart the PC and the update should no longer appear.
