HP Omen Obelisk 875-1055xt
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am attempting to figure out how to use my function keys on my new HP Omen Obelisk, specifically for the game "Runescape". On this game you must use the f1-f11 keys to open up certain menus but on my new computer I must hold down the "fn" key in order to be able to use the function keys to do that which makes the process extremely difficult. I am looking for a method to reverse the function keys so that I must hold down "fn" to change the volume and whatnot and the default be what I was attempting to do. I am using a HP pavilion wireless keyboard. I have tried going through the BIOS in the start up but my model of Omen does not have an action keys menu AT ALL to be able to modify it.

@nitp302,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to use the function keys without using the FN key.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

As you have mentioned that there is no option in the BIOS to change the function keys behavior then you need to press the FN key to use the function keys. It looks like the keyboard that you have is a multimedia keyboard and it is by design.

If you want to use the normal function keys then you need to purchase a normal keyboard.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Cheers!
