I have a HP Omen PC 880-p0xx and I want to upgrade to Windows 11 as i am getting pressure from work that come next year my desktop won't meet their security benchmarks when Windows 10 is no longer supported. However, the Windows PC Health Check says that my Intel Core i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz is 'unsupported' for Windows 11. I don't want to risk trying to install Windows 11 using one of the methods I have seen online, particularly if I then cannot get Microsoft security updates, Can I replace the processor with another one which IS supported? I have spent a fair bit upgrading the memory and storage of my perfectly good computer and this is infuriating.

Your PC's motherboard does not support any processors that meet Microsoft's minimum processor requirements.
If you are interested in installing W11 24H2 on your PC as is, watch this video:
How to install Windows 11 24H2 on Unsupported PC (Early Access) 2024 (youtube.com)
Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).
Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
Your PC will get all of the cumulative and security updates just like any other PC that is fully supported to run W11 does.
I have been running W11 since it came out in 2021 on at least a dozen different PC's, only one of those meets the hardware requirements and that is how I know the other PC's are getting the same software updates.
The only thing you will have to do will be to repeat the procedure in the video each October when Microsoft rolls out the new builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.
I find that of little annoyance compared to the benefit of using my perfectly good PC's a while longer.
