Hi  @Mike925_1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  this can be. Based on your description, it sounds like the original issue with HP One Agent was resolved, but the application itself was not successfully restored after reinstalling HP Support Assistant.

In many cases, this can happen if components associated with HP One Agent were removed during the troubleshooting process, or if the reinstall only restored HP Support Assistant without reinstalling the HP One Agent service and its related files.

Could you kindly provide the following information?

  • Your HP computer model number
  • Your Windows version (Windows 10 or Windows 11)
  • Whether HP Support Assistant is currently installed and opening normally
  • Any error messages you see when attempting to launch HP One Agent
  • A screenshot of what you see in HP Support Assistant or within the Windows Start menu when searching for "HP One Agent"

With this information, we can review the current installation status and determine why HP One Agent is not returning after the reinstall.

I hope this helps.

It's Windows 11 and I have reinstalled HP Support Assistant and its running normally but HP One Agent did not reinstall with it, from what I understand it's not that important from what I gather but I don't know and is an HP Pavilion 16.

Hi @Mike925_1,

Thank you for the update, and I appreciate you providing those details.

Based on your description, it sounds like HP Support Assistant is functioning normally on your Windows 11 HP Pavilion 16, which is a positive sign. In newer releases, HP One Agent is bundled as a background service within HP Support Assistant version 9.x and may no longer appear as a separate application that can be launched manually. As a result, reinstalling HP Support Assistant does not necessarily reinstall a standalone HP One Agent application because its functionality is integrated into the HP Support Assistant framework.

If HP Support Assistant is opening normally and performing tasks such as checking for updates, running diagnostics, and displaying device information, then the underlying HP One Agent components are likely already present and working in the background.

Since HP Support Assistant is functioning correctly, you should still be able to receive support-related features, diagnostics, and update notifications as intended.
