@azm333,

Welcome to our HP Communit yforum!

To get the camera working on your HP ProOne 440 G5 23.8-inch All-In-One, you do not actually need to download a separate standalone camera driver from HP. This computer uses the generic Microsoft USB Video Device driver built directly into Windows.

If your camera isn't working, it is usually because the physical privacy shutter is closed, permissions are turned off, or the built-in driver needs to be refreshed.

Follow these steps to get your camera working immediately:

Step 1: Push Open the Physical Camera Shutter:

The HP ProOne 440 G5 features a pop-up privacy camera built into the top bezel of the monitor.

  • Physically press down on the top edge of the computer frame where the camera sits to pop it up.
  • Make sure the sliding plastic privacy switch directly on the camera lens module is pushed completely open to uncover the lens.

Step 2: Enable Windows Camera Privacy Settings:

Windows 11 often blocks apps from accessing the camera by default.

  • Open Settings by pressing Windows Key + I.
  • Navigate to Privacy & security > Camera.
  • Ensure Camera access is toggled On.
  • Scroll down and make sure Let apps access your camera is also toggled On.

Step 3: Refresh the Driver in Device Manager:

If the system isn't detecting the hardware, force Windows to reload the generic camera software payload.

  • Right-click the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
  • Click View on the top toolbar and check Show hidden devices.
  • Look for the Cameras or Imaging devices dropdown section.
  • Right-click your camera (usually listed as HP Webcam or USB Video Device) and select Uninstall device.
  • Click Action at the top toolbar and select Scan for hardware changes. Windows will automatically reinstall the clean driver.

Step 4: Install Official System Updates:

If the camera component remains hidden, the motherboard power management drivers need to be updated so Windows can detect the device.

  • Go to the official HP Driver Downloads Portal to access packages specific to your system hardware.
  • Alternatively, run the HP Support Assistant application installed on your PC to scan for outdated Intel Chipset or BIOS firmware updates.

To help me give you more specific steps, let me know:

  • Is your camera physically popping up out of the top of the monitor frame?
  • Do you see an error code (like 0xA00F4244 NoCamerasAreAttached) when you open the Windows Camera app?
  • Is the camera completely missing from Device Manager, or does it have a yellow warning triangle next to it?

Kind Regards,
