Hi @73camper,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Here’s the guidance to fix HP Smart not opening on Windows 11:

Why This Happens

The spinning circle usually means the app is stuck during initialization due to:

  • Corrupted HP Smart installation
  • Microsoft Store cache issues
  • Pending Windows updates

Recommended Fix

1. Check Windows Updates

  • Click Start > Settings > Windows Update.
  • Install all pending updates.

2. Reset Microsoft Store Cache

  • Press Win + R, type:
  • wsreset.exe
  • Press OK. A blank Command Prompt will open, and then the Microsoft Store will restart.

3. Reinstall the new HP App

4. Check System Requirements

Ensure your PC meets HP app requirements (Windows 10 or later, active internet connection).

5. Alternative Setup

If the HP app still won’t open:

  • Go to 👉 Official HP® Support
  • Download HP Easy Start and install the Full Software and Drivers for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
