Hi @73camper,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Here’s the guidance to fix HP Smart not opening on Windows 11:
Why This Happens
The spinning circle usually means the app is stuck during initialization due to:
- Corrupted HP Smart installation
- Microsoft Store cache issues
- Pending Windows updates
Recommended Fix
1. Check Windows Updates
- Click Start > Settings > Windows Update.
- Install all pending updates.
2. Reset Microsoft Store Cache
- Press Win + R, type:
- wsreset.exe
- Press OK. A blank Command Prompt will open, and then the Microsoft Store will restart.
3. Reinstall the new HP App
- Uninstall HP Smart:
- Start > Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > HP Smart > Uninstall
- Download the latest version of HP App: 👉 HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
4. Check System Requirements
Ensure your PC meets HP app requirements (Windows 10 or later, active internet connection).
5. Alternative Setup
If the HP app still won’t open:
- Go to 👉 Official HP® Support
- Download HP Easy Start and install the Full Software and Drivers for your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
