I have the latest windows updates installed on my computer but still I am getting this annoying message when i try to install HP support assistant 9 - This version of HP Support Assistant appears to be incompatible with your operating system. You can download a legacy version of HP Support Assistant on our website. My current windows version as i am posting this message is Windows 10 21H2 OS Build: 19044.2006. One reason why this could be happening is I already had HP support assistant 9 installed on my PC but had to uninstall it for data cleanup purposes and now it is picking up wrong version numbers from old app data files that i did not delete. I tried to search through C drive but i could not find the location of the app data file which HPSA installer is picking up. Please help.

Uninstall, and then reinstall HP Support Assistant to fix issues with the software.
Search for and open Add or remove programs in Windows.
Select HP Support Assistant from the Apps & features list.
Click Uninstall, and then click Uninstall again to confirm.
Restart your computer.
