When I select any of the diagnostic tabs in the HP Support window, I immediately get the "Did this Fix the problem" window.

Give the full name with the product number P / N


this is not a model:
HP Desktop M01-F1xxx
the requested product number must look like this
Product Number: 9EE50AA # ABA
the model corresponding to this number will therefore be
HP Desktop - M01-F1033wb

Give the full version of windows

for windows 10 type winver in the search box
if you give the best information
your problem could have a solution more quickly (depending on the difficulty, of course)

If the current HP Support Assistant app is not opening, try to download and install the latest version of the app on top of the existing installation.
Download the HP Support Assistant installer from the link.
Run the installer and click Yes when asked to confirm.
Proceed with the installation.
Reboot the computer if prompted by the PC.
After the restart, check if the app is working again.

Otherwise, for hp support assistant, sometimes it is not enough to reinstall the software in order to have the latest version, you will have to use the microsoft store:
