Example: Pavilion 65X750-171
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Received HP notice to install Intel Platform ME Firmware update Version 11.8.50.3470,  sp87520.exe  SoftPaq.

I followed the directions, pressed install and the info box said installing. Waited 30 minutes and still no visiual indoication of an install. Decided to stop and just forget about this Frimware update since it is no apparently functioning. What am I doing wrong?

Usually it wouldn't take much time, but again it depends upon the internet speed you have. 🙂

 

It's your call whether to install it or not, and even if it's not installed it's not going to make an impact on the computer's performance, Cheers. !!!!

What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 

(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

 

Plesae let me know the exact product number of the computer to assist you further with relevant steps. 🙂

 

In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below:

 

Follow this link, do a quick search with the product number, select the right operating system, and then check for the Intel platform ME firmware update. 🙂

 

Please reply with the details for further assistance.

I'm still concerned about attempting to make this Firmware Update sp87520 for my HP Envy Desptop  750-171. I don't see it listed on the Product Types list I was sent.  I also see some discouraging replies about problems after this was installed.        In addition I thought it was just installing the sp87520 Firmware Update but now it appears there are addional downloads that says you have to install these after you install this Update. Getting complicated and not sure I want to do this.

          There is no mention as to how long this Firmware Update installation should take. Ten minutes or 3 hours  how long?
