Hi @Trinity27,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP VH240a monitor typically supports multiple input connections including HDMI and VGA. If you've already tried using a new HDMI cable and it's still not working, it's worth trying a VGA cable to see if that resolves the issue.
Here's what you can try.
- Check connections: Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely plugged into both the monitor and your computer or device. Also, check the power cable to ensure the monitor is receiving power.
- Input source selection: Most monitors have a button or menu option to switch between input sources. Make sure you've selected the correct input source (HDMI or VGA) on the monitor.
- Test with VGA cable: If you have a VGA cable available, try connecting it to your monitor and computer to see if that works. This will help determine if the issue lies with the HDMI port or the monitor itself.
- Test with another device: If possible, try connecting the monitor to another device (such as a laptop or gaming console) using both HDMI and VGA cables to see if the issue persists. This can help isolate whether the problem is with the monitor or the original computer you were using.
- Check computer settings: Sometimes, your computer's display settings may need adjustment to output video through HDMI. Check your computer's display settings to ensure it's set to extend or duplicate the display to the external monitor.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
