I am trying to install Ubuntu on an HP Z2 g9.

Currently have 1 drive for Windows and the second drive will be my Ubuntu option.

After installing Windows, go into bios to disable the Windows part and boot into my install drive for installing Ubuntu. Once in the process of installing Ubuntu, it does not show any drives in the system at all.

For ubuntu to see the second drive I am trying to install I have to remove it from the motherboard and use a drive caddy to plug it in via a USB port on the from or back of the desktop. Then everything can be installed. But once finished I move it back into the desktop on the motherboard and it will not allow me to get into the ubuntu I am installing.. Any ideas?
