Microsoft Windows 11

I don't understand how I would program keys to provide the following functions:

"refresh" (such as a browser window)

"close window"

Is it possible?

I am using hp accessory center with a hp 455 programmable wireless keyboard.

thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @sysdawg1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

It’s understandable that setting up custom key functions can feel a bit confusing, especially if you’re looking to match the exact functions of refreshing or closing windows.

With the HP Accessory Center and your HP 455 programmable keyboard, you should be able to assign these functions using specific key combinations:

Refresh (Browser Window):

  • In most browsers, pressing F5 or Ctrl + R refreshes the page.
  • Open HP Accessory Center and select the key you’d like to program. Look for an option to assign a Custom Shortcut or Keystroke Command and enter Ctrl + R for a browser refresh.

Close Window:

  • The common shortcut to close a window is Alt + F4.
  • In the HP Accessory Center, select the key you’d like to program for closing windows. Choose Keystroke Command and enter Alt + F4.

These shortcuts should give you the functionality you need.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
