Hi @
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for flagging that—when HP Click refuses to launch on a Windows 10 machine, it’s often due to outdated Java dependencies or corrupted installation files. Here’s a quick set of steps that have helped others get it working again:
Check System Requirements:
- Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements for HP Click. Refer to HP Click’s documentation for specific requirements.
Update HP Click:
- Ensure you have the latest version of HP Click installed. Out-of-date software might cause compatibility issues with your operating system.
- Visit the HP Click download page to check for updates.
Restart the Computer:
- Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve software glitches.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your Windows 10 operating system is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and download any pending updates.
Run HP Click as an Administrator:
- Right-click on the HP Click icon and select Run as administrator. This can sometimes resolve permission-related issues.
Check Compatibility Mode:
- Right-click on the HP Click shortcut, select Properties, then go to the Compatibility tab. Check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select an earlier version of Windows.
Reinstall HP Click:
- Uninstall HP Click from your system:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select HP Click, and click Uninstall.
- Reinstall HP Click by downloading the latest version from the HP website.
Check for Conflicting Software:
- Disable any antivirus or firewall temporarily to see if they are blocking HP Click from starting.
- Ensure there are no other programs that might conflict with HP Click.
Event Viewer Logs:
- View the Event Viewer logs for any errors related to HP Click.
- Type Event Viewer in the Windows search bar, open it, and check under Windows Logs > Application for any error messages related to HP Click.
