Hi,

I was advised recently to do some upgrades on my 2015 HP desktop 110-501A Windows 10.

Firstly I was going to update my BIOS drivers but I checked the HP website which detected my system but told me it didn't have any software or driver updates.

So does this mean my BIOS drivers are OK or I can't get them from HP?

Hi:

It appears that HP has retired support for your PC since it is more than 10 years old.

That's why you can't find any drivers for it on the HP support site.

I can only find a 80.08 BIOS update file for your PC.

If you have that version, then you will have to remain on that version.

Hi Paul thanks for the info,

I just looked up my PC and bios specs and the PC has a born date of 24 August 2015 so its under 10 years old.

Bios is showing as NUT 80-07 Bios date is 02/09/2015

I guess this is the bios the PC had since new.

So if HP can't/won't help am I out of options?

Regards,

Greg

You're very welcome.

You can update your BIOS version v80.07 to v80.08 with the file I have posted below:

Info link:

Thanks Paul.

I should mention that I'm ancient and not at all geeky so is that link going to just install itself or do I need to follow a procedure I may not understand?

Greg

You're very welcome.

Watch this video:  Works the same for a desktop PC, and you already have the BIOS file to download.

Update Your HP Computer BIOS from Windows | HP Computers | HP Support

There's really no reason to update your PC's BIOS if it is running OK, so if you're not comfortable updating the BIOS after watching the video don't do it or you will have one useless PC.

There are no do-overs if the BIOS update fails.

 Hi Paul,

Before I saw your last message I clicked the links you provided and that gave simple instructions which I followed.

It all seemed to be going smoothly but I got a window that said like........system update bios failed..........it then booted up using the old bios.

So as you say it works its just not up to date.

I should quit before I screw something up 🙂

Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.

Regards,

Greg

Hi, Greg:

I would definitely not try running the BIOS update again.

You were very lucky the PC is working after the failed update.

Cheers,

Paul
