I uninstalled my printer, hoping to reinstall it to correct an issue.  The scanner is the only component showing now and I cannot reinstall the printer.

If you're using the HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer and only the scanner is showing after uninstalling the printer, likely, the full print driver package was not properly reinstalled or detected by Windows.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Fully Uninstall All HP Software

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Uninstall anything related to HP OfficeJet 8015e or HP Smart.
  • Restart your computer.


2. Use HP’s Official Uninstaller Tool (Optional but Recommended)

  • HP provides a cleanup utility to remove leftover files. You can find it on their support site or use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool.


3. Download and Install the Latest Drivers


4. Use the HP Smart App for Setup


5. Check Windows Settings

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • If the printer is listed as “Scanner only,” click Add device and let Windows search again.
  • If it still doesn’t show, click Add manually and choose USB printer if connected via cable.
