HP ENVY Phoenix 810 PC Series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This computer (HP ENVY Phoenix 810 PC Series) has a drive for DVDs and Blu-rays, but I can't figure out how to play the latter. I've scoured through online posts that say my computer might have a preloaded media software, but I can't find one. I've also tried playing Blu-rays using VLC, but that didn't work either. I even followed steps to install extra drivers to VLC, but that didn't work.

Since my computer has a Blu-ray drive, I would expect to be able to use it without purchasing additional software, but am I wrong? What steps can I follow to play a Blu-ray?

Hi:

What is the product number of your PC?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

Most HP PC's don't come with Blue Ray drives.

This media player software is on the HP ENVY Phoenix 810-200 PC Series' support page, and it should support playing Blu-Ray disks if your PC has a Blu-Ray drive.

Cyberlink Power Media Player Software

14.0.1.5418

Thanks for your reply! The product number is J6N61AV#ABA. My drive has the Blu-ray Disc logo on it among the compact disc, DVD, and RW logos.

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the software. I have downloaded it, and my Blu-ray is playing!

You're very welcome.

The product number you posted indicates that your PC is a configured to order (CTO) model, and the parts list shows a couple of  options for optical drives--one of them being a Blu-Ray drive.
