How to bypass a password to log into a computer

I am trying to get into my old laptop but for the life of me cannot remember my login password to get into the computer. I have the password to open the email that is on the main screen but it doesn’t want to work for the computer. I would prefer not to lose everything if possible.

Since the email option for password not working, I am afraid, you may have to reset the Pc. However,
