My work laptop has Cyberlink Power2Go so I tried converting a DVD using that laptop and my USB DVD drive. The copy was successful. No errors and the title menu appears as it should when the copied DVD is inserted in my DVD recorder. I downloaded Power2Go to my desktop computer and copied another DVD. That worked as well.

That would tend to point to the Ashampoo software as the problem.
That is assuming that you are using the same brand of blank DVD's and the same type DVD+R or DVD-R. If all those mentioned variables are the same, then the it must be the software.
I see that you are using Windows 10 Home Version 20H2 which is the newer build. Perhaps there is a slight difference in that build that the Ashampoo software does not interface well. At least you have it sorted out. I would think the ImgBurn or the CDBurnXP that @WAWood suggested would have work, also.
Anyways, glad it now works.
I'm not an HP employee.

Yea, it wasn't my choice to install the 20H2 version. Windows decided itself that it was time. I've had a number of problems with it since it installed:
1. PC doesn't always start up with NumLock on.
2. When PC starts up the password box is displayed on the blurry lock screen. If I wait awhile, the password box and the blur go away.
3. Outlook intermittently forgets my passwords and prompts me to enter them again.
4. Outlook send/receive occasionally times out on the receive function.
#3 and #4 are especially annoying. I don't have any of these problems on my laptop, which is running the previous version of Windows Home.
I tried Ashampoo after reviewing some of the free software available because it had good reviews and had a clean, easy to understand interface. Some of the others didn't seem as intuitive to me.

I tried that before giving up on Ashampoo and had no better luck. I uninstalled it and am using Cyberlink Power2Go. It has worked perfect every time.
I finally resolved all of the problems I was having after Windows upgraded itself to 20H2. Microsoft released an update which didn't seem to fix anything, so I flushed DNS. All the startup and Outlook problems immediately went away. It's so nice to have my PC working normally again.
