I do not own my laptop any longer but it continues to show up in my HP Support Assistant on my Desktop in my list of devices. I've tired the suggested solution of clicking on the icon with the pencil, but there is no option available for removing it from the list. The only option is to rename it. I tried a second suggested solution of going to the Control Panel, and going to Devices and Printers, but it does not even show up there. I know this is nothing critical, but it is annoying. I would appreciate any help the community can offer.

Thank you

See if you can remove that stubborn printer using the delete option in your HP Account Dashboard.

Remove Unwanted Device from HP Account Dashboard

If you no longer have a particular device (computer / printer), that device can be removed from your HP Account Dashboard.

Open the main HP Account website,

HP Account - Login / Dashboard

Click and sign into your HP Account

Tab My HP Account > My HP Dashboard

Tab / Section My Devices

Device(s) listed in rows

Click the X in Blue Circle in the last column of the device information

What else?

It might be necessary to uninstall / restart / install a fresh copy of the HP Support Assistant.

The good news (hopefully):

The HP Support Assistant is the "Application" type - the app might not fight you when you try to uninstall / reinstall it.

Uninstall HPSA Application >> Apps

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Search or scroll down and find HP Support Assistant

Select the unwanted program  > Uninstall the software

Restart the computer and log in

Download, Save, Install the latest supported HP version of the HP Support Assistant

I'm not sure how it happened, but when I had a problem with remembering my password, and reset it, I ended up with an entirely different looking dashboard with the device I was trying to remove no longer there. I did, though, have to add my printer which also disappeared. But the problem seems to be resolved, and will remain a mystery as to how it happened. I would have tried your suggestion downloading  the latest version, so THANKS!

You are welcome.

OK - another way to solve the problem.

It was just a matter of the system knowing the device is "gone".

"Whatever works".

Smiling.
