Need to clean fan but canno't remove rear cover. I can loosen the two screws but when I attempt to loosen cover the clips will not budge. Is there a special tool to loosen the cover?

@pupadorn,

Grasping the back cover, your flexing outward away from the seam.  A putty knife (thin blade) can be used to gently pry the back cover outward and away.

Check out the following remove and replace videos.

In the media library, click on Rear Cover on the left side to start the video.

Thanks for the reply. I have watched that video many times but I am not able to remove cover as easily as they show. I removed the 2 screws but when I attempt to remove the cover I canno't un snap the tabs without feeling that I will break the cover.  Is there any type of tool that would make it easier to pry open the tabs along the sides?, or there a trick that I am missing?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply and recomendation using the putty knife. I have tried svrl times applying pressure around the cover but with no luck. I do not want to break the cover. I give the knifi a try.

Thanks

@pupadorn

It would be better to use a large spudger tool to remove the cover.

Spudgers are made of plastic to avoid damaging covers on mobile phones and other electronic equipment.
