Hello,

I work in the IT department at a college. Our problem is that we have computer devices in their respective boxes. The serial numbers and MAC addresses are listed on the boxes as barcodes. Instead of manually typing all this information into Excel, we would like to scan the boxes as we go.

I'm having problems understanding your issue.

A Mac address is a unique address assigned to every networking device by the manufacturer.

If a laptop, for example, has both an Ethernet connector and WiFi, each of those devices will have their own Mac address.

You can generally find all the Mac addresses present in a PC by opening a command window and typing "ipconfig /all"

I'm not familiar with this bar code you are trying to scan -- as I have only done such scanning using apps on smartphones.

Sorry, as I said, I have only used smartphones to do barcode scanning, so I have no idea how to scan the info into Excel.
