@mitch3591, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
We understand that, you're saying the HpPortIox64.sys (sometimes spelled slightly differently) is stuck showing on your screen, and in Device Manager (via Windows + X → Device Manager), the scanner has a yellow triangle, meaning there's a driver issue. Plus, you're on Windows 11 using an HP DeskJet 2752e.
Quick Breakdown of What's Happening:
- HpPortlox64.sys is part of HP's port driver system for handling communication between the PC and the printer/scanner.
- If it’s not loading properly, it’s usually because of:
- A corrupted or outdated driver.
- A Windows security setting (like Memory Integrity / Core Isolation) blocking old drivers.
- HP Smart app or full drivers not installed correctly.
Here's What I'd Suggest Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Check if Core Isolation is Blocking the Driver
- Press Windows + S, search for "Core Isolation" → Open it.
- Click on "Core Isolation Details."
- See if there's a Driver incompatibility warning there — often it says "Memory Integrity is blocking HpPortlox64.sys".
- If yes:
- You can temporarily turn off Memory Integrity (not dangerous short-term) to allow the driver.
- OR update/replace the driver.
Step 2: Reinstall the HP Printer Driver Properly
- Uninstall the printer from:
- Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners → Click your HP DeskJet 2752e → Remove.
- Uninstall HP Smart and any other HP printer software from Settings > Apps.
- Download the latest Full Solution Software for your model here:
- Install it fresh (do not plug in USB until it asks if you're using USB).
This ensures you get newer signed drivers compatible with Windows 11, including updated HpPortlox64.sys or an equivalent.
Step 3: Optional HP Print and Scan Doctor
If it still misbehaves, run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
It can fix port, driver, and scan issues automatically.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
