Follow up question regarding the above subject and uninstalling it:  I was told is necessary to anyone requiring that type of optic recognition but if I didn't use or need that particular feature I could uninstall it.  At the risk of sounding like an idiot, could someone give me an example of needing that type of software?  One can never tell if they might end up needing in the future.  Additionally, I just want to make sure that I am not using it just in case I am completely ignorant to its importance in my life.

If you use something like Belarc Advisor it displays and prints out licence keys, network settings etc etc and it may show one for IRIS Optical Character Recognition.

Basically just reading a printed page, like the Post Office do for addresses, POST/ZIP codes etc.

As to it's value, now or in the future, who knows.
