I can't boot my PC from a pendrive, for instance to install a new Linux Distro, etc.

First of all, I configure BIOS in order to put pendrive as first device, and then I check the tab Security to ensure USB are enabled.

So I can see the pendrive in BIOS and, in fact, I can see pendrives when I'm into Windows, but any way I can't boot the PC from USB, even if I use Plop Boot Manager, a CD which helps to boot from a USB.

I'd appreciate any help to solve that issue.

Thanks!

P.S.:  It's a socket 775 PC, so it hasn't EFI BIOS like later series such 6200, 6300, etc.

BIOS was updated to the last version:   v2.02

I had a similar problem with my HP 6000.  Another forum offered the tip that if you [Restore factory defaults] for the BIOS, it resets the settings for the USB ports and they work properly again.

Restore your factory default settings, then select the option to Set Defaults and Exit.  Reboot, then go back into BIOS to set your boot order back to USB, and your USB ports should boot properly (if your issue was the same as mine).

Thanks!

I did it. Now USB works properly, so I've a OS X  system in my HP 6000 Pro. :generic:
