I have a Victus by HP laptop, model 15-fa1093dx, and I’m trying to reset or reinstall Windows 11 due to malware.
I’ve already:
- Used multiple USB drives and multiple computers to create a bootable Windows 11 installer with both Rufus and the Media Creation Tool.
- Tried different file systems (FAT32, NTFS) and partition schemes (GPT).
- Disabled Secure Boot in BIOS and configured boot order properly.
- Attempted to boot from EFI files when the USB wouldn’t appear, but either got errors or gibberish.
- Ran the HP Storage Diagnostic Test, which passed.
- Tried using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, which failed with an error message after extracting files.
- Downloaded and extracted Intel RST drivers to try loading them during setup (Load Driver window), but my drive still doesn’t show up.
- Also attempted BIOS recovery steps and driver injection — nothing worked.
I’ve done everything by the book. The system refuses to recognize the drive during installation and fails to boot properly from recovery tools.

See if the IRST drivers I zipped up and attached below work.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
