I have a Seagate external hard drive on which I keep most of my pictures and videos. Suddenly it does not show up on any drive. In the past when that occasionally happened, I just removed the USB plug and then replaced it, and then it would reappear. This time it will not reappear. I have another desktop and when I plug it into that one, it shows up.

hi
according to what you indicate, it works, since it can be accessed with another computer.
Attention, in certain configurations, you must not unplug the usb, without having clicked on the option, "disconnect the peripheral safely"
You should test other devices, and if possible another external HDD, to see if you only have the problem with this one.
it is mentioned
Back I/O ports
USB 2.0 Type-A ports
USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port
USB Gen 1 Type-A ports
Do you have the possibility to test the different ports for some you may need an adapter, if you could test, to see if it can work with at least one usb port.
if possible back up your data from this drive, you never know
